Another one of Ma Bo Yong‘s (The Longest Day in Chang’an, Secret of the Three Kingdoms) novels is getting picked up for a drama adaptation – Feng Qi Luo Yang (风起洛阳) or The Wind is Up in Luo Yang which has announced its official leads as Wang Yibo and Victoria Song Qian.
The announcement generated a lot of buzz and excitement showing how popular the novel is and was a hot topic on weibo. At first, there were rumors that this drama will have Huang Xuan – Wang Yibo as the double male lead but with Victoria in the mix, I don’t know what’s gonna happen. The funny thing also is that shortly after the news came out, fans of both Wang Yibo and Victoria Song started fighting on social media which reminds me a lot about what happened to The Golden Hairpin (青簪行). I mean, what’s there to debate about? Can’t we all just look forward to a possibly good costume drama?
The historical mystery drama is set in the ancient capital Luoyang during the period of Wu Zetian.
