Bai Yu is looking good isn’t he? Although personally I prefer him clean-shaven, I think he got the whole Sherlock Holmes vibe down pat. The facial hair added to the character’s cool, mysterious and brilliant detective persona. Elements of crime-solving are also present in the posters which I really like.
Detective L (绅探) stars Bai Yu (Guardian, Suddenly This Summer) as the titular Detective Luo Fei, a famous detective in Shanghai during the 30’s. He is joined by Jing Ru You (Fighter Of The Destiny) as the rookie detective Qin Xiao Man and Jeffrey Ji Chen (Tomb Of The Sea, Lost Love In Times) as the forensic expert Ben Jie Ming.
The crime-procedural drama is scheduled for an April 2019 broadcast (no specific date announced yet) over streaming site Tencent and is directed by Deng Ke (When We Were Young). Check out the official trailer released this week and keep an eye on us for more updates.
